High-Fives

Raves, reviews, and high-fives. Some words from recent clients.

“I cannot IMAGINE anyone but Jeramie shooting our wedding! We hit it off on e-mail right from the start and it’s only gotten better from there.  My honey and I had sat down when we got engaged and decided that the two most important things to us were a cool, funky venue (we’re getting married at an amazing antique warehouse in Chicago) and the photography–after all, the other aesthetic choices you make are all for naught if you can’t look back at pictures of them later, right? I am a bit of a…well, control-freak? And I had spent MONTHS searching for a photographer. I kept coming back to Jeramie’s website, but thinking, OMG, he’s in SEATTLE, how am I gonna make that work? But really, the only photographer I found in Chicago that was even CLOSE to his style/skill was more expensive and frankly, just not what I wanted. So I contacted Jeramie and he was cool with flying into town for both our engagement session and the wedding–two different trips!–and OMG, I am so glad we chose him. From the moment we met him, we had a BLAST. He is funny and immediately put us at ease–even my camera-shy fiance, who was not cmpletely sold on the idea of engagement photos but ended up getting more into it than I did! Jeramie was game for whatever ideas we had and spent two days just wandering around Chicago with us, hitting cool spots and taking shots of us in different wardrobes. Seriously, my fiance and I both think we’re okay-looking but that we always look like CRAP in photos. To take a picture of the two of us that we BOTH like–that neither one of us will veto for some imagined personal flaw–is a feat in itself. Jeramie didn’t just get us ONE photo we could agree on, we had 98 photos that we LOVED. NINETY-EIGHT!! Our family and friends will not shut up about how great our engagement photos are–not only great photos in their own right, but great representations of our relationship, our personalities, and our love for each other. I cannot WAIT for Jeramie to shoot our wedding–heck, I just am looking forward to hanging out with him again!” – Laura and Andy, Chicago, IL

“Eighteen months of planning for one day, which went by in a flash.  Allen and I are grateful that Jeramie was there to capture it all.  Jeramie’s images were amazingly creative and told the perfect story of our wedding day.  Each picture made us remember what we were feeling in that moment, and we were completely blown away by his ability to capture our emotions in one shot. Jeramie is professional, personable, and his work reflects how truly gifted he is.  Allen and I are so lucky to have had the opportunity to work with him.  It was an absolute pleasure.” -Lisa and Allen, Seattle, WA

“Jeramie shot our wedding on Orcas Island (San Juan Island) in September 2011, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice in photographers. Jeramie was wonderful to work with leading up to the wedding, letting us ask all kinds of questions, responding promptly to our many e-mails (so important – as any bride knows), and really listening to what we wanted to capture. At the wedding he was equally great to work with, moving around to get all the key shots without being intrusive, having a great attitude (personable, enthusiastic, organized), and thinking of some incredibly creative ways to capture the day. And the photos? Breathtaking – which really is the most important part! (So much so that our wedding was featured in the online wedding magazine Magnolia Rogue). For a wedding photographer who will be a partner in creating memories to last the rest of your life, look no further than ShodaLove!” -Brynne and Ryan, Orcas Island, WA.

“My now-husband and I worked with Jeramie last July, and we could not have been happier with his contribution to our big day. Jeramie is a courteous, affable, and receptive guy, and I kid you not when I say that nearly every last wedding guest remarked on how neat/friendly/personable our photographer was. And then there’s the talent factor, which Jeramie brings in spades. I seriously cannot fathom a more skilled artist for the job: J showed incredible ability in using setting (husband’s parents’ backyard) to full advantage. Some of our favorite shots appear to glow with late-afternoon light through the trees… Oh, and forget about cliche: Jeramie is all about zeroing in on the uniqueness of the couple and the occasion. In other words, he conveyed with supreme success the magic of our day.

We can’t wait to work with Jeramie again! In fact, we’ve already got him on board to shoot our pregnancy pics. ;)” Kristen and Ray, Boston, MA

“My wife and were looking for a change from the traditional portrait-studio session and were referred to Jeramie by some close friends. Never having worked with anything other than portrait-studios, we really weren’t sure what to expect. Our uncertainties, however, were quickly laid to rest from the moment we met up with Jeramie for the session. His laid-back and humorous personality made the session feel relaxed, enjoyable, and completely natural. How did the pictures come out you ask? Color us COMPLETELY blown away!! We could not have been more impressed with the quality of the images Jeramie captured on that day. The color, the angles, the lighting, Fuggheddaboudit!! Jeramie’s talents were on full display that day. In fact, my wife and I were so impressed we put all the pictures up on our Facebook wall and three months later the compliments are still pouring in. We are DONE with traditional portrait-studios, from now on Jeramie is our go-to photographer. We can’t wait to work with him again.” Hernan and Celia, Shoreline, WA

“My husband and I never knew that a single photo could capture emotion, compassion, energy and love all in one shot until we worked with Jeramie. When my husband and I got engaged, one of the first items on our “to do” list was to search for a photographer who had the talent and artistic edge that was important to us in photos. In comes Jeramie Shoda. We first learned of Jeramie from another professional photographer who is an acquaintance of ours and admired his work. Great sign! After visiting Jeramie’s website/blog, we sent him an email within minutes and were surprised to hear back from him within the hour. Skill and professionalism … really? We hadn’t had that kind of luck with other vendors we’d contacted for our wedding.

Upon our first meeting with Jeramie, we knew he was the photographer for us. His relaxed yet attentive attitude and friendly personality made us feel like we’d known him forever which was awesome during our engagement and wedding photo sessions because my husband and I felt so comfortable with Jeramie that he was able to capture the love in our relationship (and humor) in every frame. I remember having one of those moments where Jeramie got my husband and I to laugh out loud and only after the fact, did I realize he was taking photos, not just chatting with us between takes. Those photos are the ones you smile at every time you see them because they evoke emotion for the love you feel for your husband/wife.

From our engagement photos in Edmonds to our wedding photos in Pioneer Square, we could not have been more impressed by the shots Jeramie took and how much fun we had working with him. Even when we lost our seven groomsmen right before the photos with the bridal party, Jeramie took it in stride, calmed us down by acting like it was no big deal, and proceeded to take some photos of us that turned out to be some of my favorite! Although, I really can’t pick a favorite photo. He did AMAZING work and since our wedding day, we’ve been asked more than a dozen times who our photographer was and we’ve eagerly passed along Jeramie’s information. To have remarkable photos that will serve as our memory of our wedding day and to constantly be told that “your photos are the best wedding photos I’ve ever seen” is one of those moments where you just think … “Yeah, I know. We had Jeramie. He’s the shit.” My husband and I plan to have kids in a few years and even though we live on the East Coast now, we’ll definitely be flying to Washington to work with Jeramie for a family session.” Timory and Ryan, Seattle, WA
